Oninaki is a role-playing game by Square Enix that takes place in a fantasy world with anime visuals. Some of the wandering souls called the Lost remain in the surface, and it’s up to the Watchers to send them in the Beyond. Players take the role of Kagachi, a young Watcher who swore loyalty on his job. His perspective is challenged when he met his childhood friend, Linne, who is being hunted down by The Night Devil. Linne lost her memories and never aged at all. Players have to face the dead and uncover the secret behind Linne and The Night Devil. To do so, they need to team up with an embodiment of weapons called Daemons. Each Daemon has a unique fighting style, ranging from melee combat to ranged marksmanship. There is a Daemon for every situation, and players must select the right one to win. Oninaki is a game filled with extravagant action and flashy game effects.
